I wonder though if Ian MacKaye would mind that a video of his song is being played after a shot of a cigarette being stubbed out, given that he's not big into the smokes...The video, though, is fantastic--perfect blend of high and low culture.

I met Ian once and used to correspond with him occasionally for Dischord advertising in 10 Things, he seemed super mellow and not at all militant in his belief system, unlike some kids that came later. I know he's knocked back a beer or two here in there in the last decade and said he never meant for straightedge to become a movement, the song was about his own beliefs, rather than doctrine. So I'm thinking he wouldn't care and would probably laugh at the video... who knows, he's probably seen it.

This is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen

I like Ian MacKaye a lot, based purely on an interview he gave where he talked about why people shouldn't give 21+ shows (something I appreciate, being too young to get in to said shows).

Hmmm, I guess I'm the only one who's under whelmed by this. Kingsly looks like he's speelwalking through it. He's not delivering it with enough additude. He's not pissed off enough.
